    TESTIMONIALS
"I've had this 2000 franc note from Belgium sitting in my desk drawer for years. Even though it's only worth 80 euro or so . . . I'm glad to have the cash."

  • Do you charge any fees?
No, The Currency Commission does not charge any fees for banknote redemption. There is zero cost to you.

What is the best way to send you my old banknotes?
It is entirely up to you how you want to send us your banknotes, however we recommend that you use some type of registered mail service or courier for larger sums.

Can I drop off my banknotes to your office in person?
No, unfortunately because of security and insurance purposes, we are unable to accept banknotes in person. Even if you are in the immediate area, we require that all banknotes are mailed to us. You can find our nearest location here.

How long does it take from when I send you my old banknotes until I receive my payment?
It can take 7 - 10 for domestic mail to be received in our office and another 7 - 10 days until the resulting payment is received by the customer. It takes only 24 to 48 hours to process the banknotes once they are received in our offices. It can take up to 16 days but generally speaking most transactions are completed within 10 days for domestic transactions and 14 days for international.

Can you send my exchanged money though PayPal?
No, not yet. We anticipate that this service will be operational in the new year.

Why can't I go to my local bank to exchange my old banknotes?
Each Member State prior to the switch over to the euro allowed for banknote exchange at local financial institutions. After the exchange period expired, old Member State banknotes were not longer valid for conversion at financial institutions.

What old banknotes do you accept?
The Currency Commission will accept banknotes from any one of the countries listed on our Valid Currencies page.

    How do you make money?
The exchange rates we offer are less than the fixed exchange rate each country established at the time of conversion. This difference covers our costs of collecting the banknotes (which are not exchangeable at public financial institutions), arrangement of secure transportation to the central offices of the appropriate European banks for exchange and other related expenses.

Can I send banknotes from more than one country?
The banknotes can be sent to us in any combination and do not have to be sent in individually.

Can I send in old coins?
We don't accept coins for our exchange program.
